Got into Root. Now I can't get out.

I was trying to change directories, went up too far and now I'm trapped in the Root directory (with Linux-like folders such as "mnt" and "etc".)

Even if I completely exit/close the app, when I relaunch, it returns me to the root ("√") directory. I previously disabled "Always start from last opened location", so this should not be happening.

All of the standard icons across the top for "My Computer", "Desktop", etc, are gone (only "Up" & "Refresh" on the left, and a "Phone" icon that takes me to "storage/emulated/0/" on the right.)

How do I get back to the standard home directory where I can browse the drives on my PC?

Thats inbuilt Phone File Explorer. You can press sd card icon on top right corner to open sd card directory.

Even if I completely exit/close the app, when I relaunch, it returns me to the root ("√") directory. I previously disabled "Always start from last opened location", so this should not be happening.

The option "Remember Last Location" is only for WiFi PC File Explorer, it wont work on inbuilt Phone File Explorer.

All of the standard icons across the top for "My Computer", "Desktop", etc, are gone (only "Up" & "Refresh" on the left, and a "Phone" icon that takes me to "storage/emulated/0/" on the right.)

Again, thats inbuilt Phone File Explorer, Slide left or right for WiFi PC File Explorer.

How do I get back to the standard home directory where I can browse the drives on my PC?

Either slide left or right(depends on your explorer settings) for WiFi PC File Explorer. Or you can add a new WiFi PC File Explorer by clicking on the icon on top left corner, then "Add a new Explorer". Then select the appropriate options in dialog and press OK.

Thank you.

Re: Got into Root. Now I can't get out.

Thanks for the reply, but this isn't the "built in" file explorer. Same interface. The "Buy Now" box to upgrade to the "Pro" version of the WiFi app was still at the bottom.

I was finally able to exit root by closing the connection/server on my PC as well as the app on my phone, relaunching the server on my PC then the app on the phone getting me back to the "connection menu".

Reconnecting using the existing shortcut only dropped me back into Root, but deleting the connection and creating a new one allowed me to get back to the normal home directory with choice of drives/folders.

The WiFi PC File Explorer application has inbuilt Phone File Explorer, which can be viewed by swiping left or right depends on your explorers page settings.
