After I read this forum I didn't know that I could customise my prefered folders on the top of my phone's screen.

This is awesome.  Do you know anymore "easter eggs" in this program?

Ah, thank you. Yes, it was set to not keep activities. Will disabling it affect the battery life, greatly?

You're not suppose to be using that setting. It meant for debugging the certain applications. Enabling it will make your device work abnormally. And about saving battery, it might save very little amount of battery in certain conditions or not at all.

While I have your attention, is there a way to favourite folders?  Or is there any plans to add that?

Bookmarking a folder is currently not supported from WiFi PC File Explorer but it is in ToDo list. This feature will appear eventually in any future updates. Meantime, if you want you can use Topbar Icons settings in WiFi LAN Server. Add your favourite folders there and they will appear on top right corner of your device when you connect to computer.

To add/remove top bar icons

  1. Open WiFi LAN Server
  2. Press "User Accounts" button
  3. Double click on your User Name
  4. Press "Topbar Icons" button
  5. Add or Remove folders as you require
  6. Close the Topbar Icons Editor
  7. Press "Okay" button on User Account Editor
  8. Close User Accounts Editor
  9. (Re)connect to your Computer using WiFi PC File Explorer
  10. Now clap your hands for celebrating the success.

Have a good day :)

Re: Open file, close file, then 'Connect to Computer' screen. It shouldn't work like this. Your device might be running out of memory. Or possibly your device is configured not to keep activities in background.

To solve this, make sure you have proper memory, not many applications are running. Also make sure you have "Don't keep activities" unchecked in Settings > Developer Options.

Open file, close file, then 'Connect to Computer' screen. Hi, I love the app, but one annoyance is, when you open a file from your computer, e.g. an image file, then back out, instead of being on the folder you were last on you're instead presented with the 'Connect to Computer' screen. Is there a way to make it go back to the previous folder, and not the computer screen every time?

I'm having the issue while using a Nexus 7, however the app works as I want it to when sideloaded on the Amazon Fire TV.
